Cadillac Mountain, Acadia National Park (Maine, USA)

I am an Associate Manager (Engineering) at Red Hat, living and working in Durham, NC. Before switing to management, I was a Software Quality Engineer. Before working at Red Hat, I was a back-end Software Developer at 2Is-Inc (now part of Northrop Grumman), where I created applications and build systems, mostly in R and Allegro Common Lisp. Before that, I was a student at Lafayette College, where I majored in Neuroscience and accidentally minored in Computer Science.

Outside of work & tech, my hobbies include writing, music, TTRPGs, hiking, and swimming (I competitively swam from the age of 8, through college). I also enjoy learning about permaculture gardening, sustainability, urban planning, and similar topics.

My wife Rebecca, is an anesthesiologist at Duke. We’ve been together for over 18 years (married for 8), have a two-year-old son, and Pitt-mix named Maggie.

Colophon (How this site is made)

This site is statically generated using hugo and hosted on a fedora linode, using nginx. It uses a hugo theme I built from scratch, based around the simple.css style sheet.

Website Philosophy:

I started out creating this site to be a log of the technical projects I worked on at home in my homelab. However, as I’ve grown up and started a family, I realize that my life is defined and extends way beyond just tech.

So, I have extended this website from a dev/tech blog, to my personal website. In an ever-growing and busy internet, I want this to be my home on the web.
